Posted 01.25.2008 Sesquicentennial Anniversary for
Jasonville, Indiana will have all the events celebrating this
great occasion placed in a easy to read and use calendar.
The webmaster "Ivan Marak" also a chamber member will be working
on this calendar for us with the help of the president,
vice-president and other members of the Shakamak Area Chamber
of Commerce. This calendar will available as soon as possible
and continuously updated as new information is presented.
Posted 01.08.2008 - Mayor-elect Democrat
Roy Terrell took the Oath of office last Tuesday afternoon
(January 1, 2008), as new Mayor of Jasonville, Indiana.
Terrell
has served as council member for eight years and is also a
member of the Shakamak Area Chamber of Commerce. Terrell graduated
from Shakamak High School and is married to wife, Nancy.
Democrat Roy Terrell states, "I'm excited
and looking forward to being mayor and to the new year". "First
of all, I want to recognize Mayor Dorman Clark for the 12
years he served as mayor. He did a good job". Terrell
also went on to say. "Hopefully, we can be successful
in bringing in some jobs. It is essential to keep pace with
the rest of the world…I'm fearful if we don't we will
be left behind. There are good people in Jasonville, and I
think we can work together for progress."
The new elected council and others of Jasonville
as well as many Jasonville residence are very pleased to have
Roy Terrell as new mayor. We hope the best for Roy Terrell
in his new position as mayor of Jasonville, Indiana.

Posted 11.28.2007 - The Christmas Parade is expected
to begin from the Good Samaritan Nursing Home at 7:00pm on
December 8, 2007. The parade will continue from the Good Samaritan
Nursing Home on Ohio through town on Main Street and end at
Hanna Field on the intersection of Fry and West Main Street.

11.24.2007 - Christmas Festival is being held on
Saturday December 01, 2007 at the Shakamak Elementry Gymnasium.
Doors open to the public at 8am. All vendors of the Christmas
Festival are incouraged to finish their booth set-up by 8am
and the doors will be open to the vendors at 6:30am.

11.15.2007 - Wonderful Holiday kick-off as the chamber members
enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at the Boyscouts building this
past Tuesday. Thanks to IGA who catered the dinner.
Congratulations to Andrea Pierce who
was elected President of the Shakamak Area Chamber of Commerce
this past Tuesday on November 13th, 2007. Andrea Pierce was
Vice-President of the Chamber and has dedicated her time vigorously
and openly to the chamber's agenda on creating a better place
for our community here in Jasonville and surrounding area.
We all anticipate great things from her and are looking forward
to her achievements in the coming year.

Gift Exchange. Chamber
members will be exchanging gifts this year at the new Mess
Hall at Shakamak State Park. Pitch-ins are welcome to reserve
the Hall for this event this year. All members are encouraged
to join in on the festivities. The gift exchange is being
held on December 11, 2007 at 6pm. If you wish to donate
to help reserve this facility at Shakamak State Park, please
contact Andrea
Pierce.

festivities will kick-off on January 23rd, 2008, the official
date of becoming a town, back in 1858. A week long celebration
party will later take place on July 14th through July 20th
2008.
